Wayside Printers has achieved G7 Master Printer Certification status for calibrating proofing and press equipment to G7 standards, as set by IDEAlliance and the International Standards Organization (ISO). The G7 Master Printer Certification was granted through implementing a calibration process that achieves a close visual match from proof-to-press.

Wayside made the move to standardize to G7 so we can meet customer requests for a similar visual appearance between proofs and presses. Because G7 is device independent, it doesn't matter which of our presses are used or which substrate is printed on.

The G7 proof-to-print process is based on the principles of digital imaging, spectrophotometry, and computer-to-plate technologies. G7 is a calibration process that allows our network of printers to reliably achieve a visual match between proofing and printing methods.

G7 offers the following customer benefits:

• Reduced costs, decreased turn-around times, and reduction of re-prints.
• Print predictability.

Wayside Printer’s adoption of G7 standards will improve communication between our customers and our staff. Improved processes maintain printing as a competitive force in the communications marketplace.

Wayside is one of only 14 printers in Canada and the only printer in Western Canada to achieve G7 Master Printer status.
